ToolZ is a way of using different data to create different kind of reports.
How do I use it?
To use ToolZ, you must understand its basic vocabulary.

Datatype
A type of data that you want to report on. Examples include “Jobs For Client ABC" and “Shoppers." A datatype is essentially a definition, which includes what groups and properties it has.

“Person" is an example of a datatype. It is a type of object that has associated properties and groups.
Datatype Property
A numeric (or timestamp) attribute of a datatype. Examples include “Overall Score" and “Shopper Rating." (The world of data warehousing calls these “facts").

A person has many properties, including height, weight, and age.
Group
A category that can be used to aggregate data. Examples include “Months" and “Genders." (The world of data warehousing calls these “dimensions")

Groups that might be associated with a person include gender, country of residence, and favorite color.
Group Member
Specific instances of categories belonging to Groups. Examples include “December" and “Female."

Male and female are the members of the gender group.
Datapoint
A single instance of a datatype. Examples include “Job 1127" and “Shopper 17." Datapoints have associated datapoint properties and datapoint group members.

“Colleen" is a specific instance of the datatype “person." She is a “datapoint."
Datapoint Propery
The value of a property for a datapoint. Examples include “100" and “5".

Colleen’s datapoint properties include an age of 32 and a height of 5 feet.
Datapoint Group Member
The member of a group that is associated with a datapoint. Examples include “December" and “Female."

Colleen’s datapoint group members include female, the United States, and purple.
